DAILY ROUTINE
At 9.00am Sunshine Pre-School opens its doors and the staff welcome in the children and their parents/carers.
The children begin playing with the activities already set out and, once settled, are asked to self-register. This involves, with parents' encouragement, taking their name card and putting this onto the noticeboard. This enables children to recognise their name and helps with independence and confidence. A member of staff will also complete the formal register.
The children continue with their play - a wide selection of activities are provided that stimulate them and the children are encouraged to help choose what they would like to do. For further information on the range of activities available please speak to a member of staff.
At 10.15-10.45am it is time for 'rolling snack'. This gives the children the option to choose when they would like to eat their snack and means their play is not interrupted. The children wash their hands, come into the kitchen, put their namecard into the box and serve themselves from the healthy snacks on offer that day. A drink of either milk and water is available. Snack time is a social time that gives everyone the opportunity to talk about what they have been doing - both in and out of pre-school.
After snack the children return to their play until 11.50 when it is time to get ready to go home. The children help with tidying away and then collect their bags and coats and sit on chairs in a circle ready for the parents/carers to collect them at 12 noon.
For the children staying for lunch club it is time to wash their hands and then sit down with staff to eat. After lunch the children can choose from a selection of quiet activities inside or playing outside - weather permitting. At 1.00pm the parents/carers collect the children.
